Overview
Heritage Candy Company in Van Nuys, California hired me to handletter a handful of quotes for their packaging. They wanted the artwork to be colorful, fun, and sweet—just like their candy.
Design Solution
The careful use of color, lettering styles, and detail make these six hand lettered pieces a harmonious series. The strict orange, pink, blue, and yellow color scheme establish a sense of uniformity. At the same time, the combination of lettering styles—calligraphic and uppercase sans-serif—create diversity in each piece. The star, sparkle, and dot details also help to both juxtapose and unify each work.
